I've had a few off-list questions about the 3214NXT controller from Pentair.
The 3214 is really neat, you can have up to 4 tanks plumbed in parallel.
At least 1 tank is always online, and then the controllers will bring more tanks online & offline as the flow rate increases/decreases in the facility.
This configuration helps to ensure proper water quality
if the flow is too low through a large system, you’ll have hardness creep.
For example:
3” Main = Max Flow of approx 300gpm
You install 4 x 2900 systems, each rated 80gpm and 3214NXT controller
Flow rate throughout the day:
30gpm - 1 tanks online
60gpm - 1 tanks online
90gpm - 1 tanks online
120gpm- 2 tanks online
160gpm- 3 tanks online
185gpm- 3 tanks online
200gpm- 3 tanks online
240gpm -4 tanks online
300gpm- 4 tanks online
200gpm- 3 tanks online
Etc…
The 3214NXT service manual can be found here - http://www.pentairwatertreatment.com/PentairFiles/Pentair%20Water%20Treatment/Manuals/3214NXT%20Service%20Manual%2041693.pdf
