silicone lubricant

Hey Y'all,
I've never lubricated my rubber parts on my Fleck valves.
Can you recommend a silicone lubricant brand? I can't seem to find anything at the local big name hardware stores. Thanks! dfm

Fleck private labels their own - we buy it in buckets.

You know this already, but for the benefit of the other readers, NEVER EVER use vaseline or any petroleum products on water treatment devices. Not only aree they toxic to humans, but they can damage the rubber parts.

Hi Greg, I did get a tube of the product your described. Thanks! I also found a product at Lowes made by Gunk. It's called Plumber's Silicone Grease and it meets the same FDA regulation No. 21 CFR 175.300 as the Dow Corning product. :)

I found today that I prefer the lower viscosity of the Dow Corning product. The Gunk container is quite pocket handy, but I found myself using the Dow product more frequently. dm

Agreed, the DOW product is the very best that I've found.
