My service tech. asked me to post a review of my experiences with my old water softener and then a review of the new Hydropro 750 that we upgraded it to.

My husband & I moved to the Salt Lake Valley in 1989. We were from Northern California, so didn't even know what hard water was. Once we moved in we were mobbed by door-to-door salesmen who were pushing everything from windows to water. The Intermountain salesman knocked on our door and told us we should have our water tested. He had a salesman come back later that night who did some chemical tests on our water. He showed us we had hard water and re3commended the Spectrum 360 system to us since it would be able to soften and filter our water. I think the selling price was about $3000, which was a mite more than Sears where we had comparison shopped. After about 2 hours of my husband negotiating with him we signed for a new Spectrum 7-360 system. the system was installed the next day and our lives have never been the same.........
We moved our system with us to our Provo home in 1998, (I didn't want to leave it behind in the old house in SLC). We had 1 repair call on it in about 2002 that cost us about $300 for some parts that had wore out, labor and some resin that was lost to "attrition". Over the last year we've noticed the water hasnt been feeling the same on a daily basis, and we changed our programming to make it clean more often. My hubby got frustrated last week and called Affordable Soft Water Services. They sent a very bright, cheerful young man and he gave it the onceover. The system was finally worn out and he suggested we upgrade to their new smartbottle system. That was too expensive for us so we bought the Hydropro 750 which was installed yesterday. They gave me a very generous trade-in on the system if we wrote a review of the past and a review of the new system after a month.
So that's my experience so far - 18 years with 1 repair, not too shabby. It was an expensive system up front, but I really think it was worth it. Customer service has been acceptable. I'll post in about a month about how this new system works.

Time flies! With growing kids; and hubby getting a new job, I missed my one month review..so sorry!

We're almost a year into owning our new HydroPro 750 Conditioner and I am so very excited to say that its even better than the Spectrum system that we had before. Our clothes are actually coming out CLEANER than with regular soft water and I especialy notice a difference in my hair- its so much easir to manage, it doesn't get 'frizzie' like our old Spectrum water softener.
Our salt usage is about 20 percent less than the Spectrum softener we had before. I notice that the water smells and tastes better also than our old water softener. Thank you Intermountain for making a great product. I hope this HydroPro lasts as long as our first Intermountain softener.
