Fluoride

What's the deal with Fluoride ? Is it good to drink, my dentist says its good for my teeth, but the more research I do on the internet, the more confused I get. Do I really need it in my water ?

That's an issue that is bound to elicit some very emotional responses.

I'm not a doctor, so I'm not qualified to address whether fluoride is necessary for your body or not.

I do have a very strong opinion on mass-medication through the municipal water supply - You just shouldn't do it, it doesn't make sense. If you need fluoride, you should get it from your dentist or healthcare provider, not your faucet. What's next, Ritalin in the school drinking fountains, Celebrex in the water at the senior center ? - It's just silly.

I would think that we get enough fluoride from our toothpaste. There does seem to be a lot of conflicting information out there regarding fluoride in the water. I know not every public water company in America puts fluoride in their water but it seems most do. I do think our government needs to reevaluate whether we still need to put fluoride in the drinking supply.
