Hello Everybody.
So I'm driving down the road listening to Sirius/XM radio and I hear this advertisement for sofwater123.com and how this great technology can soften your water without using a traditional water softener.
A few days later I see an infomercial about HydroCare USA, and through a little research find out that its the same company who was advertising softwater123.com.
These company does a wonderful job making this product seem like the best thing since sliced bread, offering a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
Does anybody here have experience with this company or technology?

MY COMMENTS IN RED BELOW
Is HydroFLOW easy to install?
Yes, the HydroFLOW unit simply clips to the pipe, is plugged into the electric supply and is switched on.
Can I still drink the water?
HydroFLOW does not change the chemical composition of the water in anyway; it works purely on a physical basis, leaving the water completely drinkable.
Essential minerals for healthy drinking and good taste are retained in the water.
Will HydroFLOW descale as well as prevent scale?
Yes, although it may be a gradual process, taking place over a period of months. The way HydroFLOW increases the solvicity of the water, means that limescale already formed will gradually dissolve. However, not all scale is limescale - some scale cannot be dissolved and can only be removed by acid cleaning. Once a system is cleaned it is less likely to scale up again.
WHAT IS SOLVICITY?
Where should I fit the HydroFLOW?
We recommend it is placed on the cold feed to the heat exchanger. On traditional gravity fed system, this would be the down pipe between the cold water
storage tank and the hot water cylinder. On a mains pressure system, this would be on the cold feed just before it enters the heat exchanger.
How can I tell if HydroFLOW is working?
The red light on the unit is powered by the signal itself and can be relied upon to indicate that the system is being protected.
What is the life expectancy of HydroFLOW? HydroFLOW units contain solid state technology with
no moving or mechanical parts, manufactured to ISO9002. Properly installed, HydroFLOW will give
many years of trouble free service.
Does HydroFLOW protect the central heating system?
Yes, the signal transmits through the water in the cylinder and the copper cylinder itself, via the heat exchange coil into the water inside the central heating system thereby protecting the boiler and other components. With a combi system the signal transmits throughout the combi boiler into the central heating system.
Will HydroFLOW protect the cold water going to the kitchen etc.?
Yes. HydroFLOW is not dependent on water flow like other devices; i.e. the water does not have to flow past the unit in order to be treated. Rather than taking the water to the treatment, we are taking the treatment
to the water. Our patented signal transmits along conductive materials, e.g. water or metal, and
therefore throughout the whole system (primary and secondary), protecting it 24 hours a day.
SO, WHY NOT JUST INSTALL ONE AT THE CITY LEVEL ? IF I PUT ONE ON MY HOUSE, WILL IT PROTECT MY NEIGHBOR TOO ?
Is an electric supply required?
Yes, an electricity supply is required to operate the unit. To comply with EEC regulations the units are supplied with a combined plug/transformer. Alternatively, an inline power supply is available. This should only be installed by a qualified person in accordance with the latest local wiring regulations.
Does HydroFLOW work on plastic/lead pipes?
Yes, the technology ensures that the unique field is
induced longitudinally directly into the water and propagates through the entire system regardless
of the type of pipework material.
Does the signal have an effect on sensitive electrical equipment?
No, the signal is a long wave radio signal on a frequency of 120 - 140 kHz and conforms to European Directives.
Can I stop using salts in the dishwasher?
No, we advise that dishwashers be operated precisely as recommended by the manufacturer.
SO THIS PROTECTS AGAINST SCALE, AND ENHANCES THE "SOLVICITY" OF THE LIMESTONE, BUT YOU STILL NEED TO SOFTEN THE DISHWASHER WATER?
Does HydroFLOW soften the water?
Physical water conditioners are not water softeners and therefore do not provide chemically soft water. However, since dissolved minerals and salts in
heated water are taken out of solution and clustered by the physical water conditioner, the hot water will become softer.
I THOUGHT WE STILL NEED TO SOFTEN THE DISHWASHER WATER - WHERE'S THE CONSISTENCY?

This is from their "Technology" section. Show this to anyone with at least 1st year college electronics; they'll roll their eyes and laugh hysterically!
The most important feature of the HydroFLOW technology that sets it apart from that of any competing technology, is the efficient manner by which the electric field is directionally generated through the entire water system. This unique advantage, protected by international patents, singularly delivers consistently beneficial results in industrial, commercial, and domestic applications.
Most plumbing systems must be regarded as an open circuit from the electrical point of view. It would be impractical and expensive to form a reliable circuit from a domestic or industrial plumbing system whereby an electrical current flows through every section of the plumbing system.
To generate a reasonable flow of electrons in an open circuit conductor, it is necessary to provide a source of high frequency to a conductor that is long enough to generate a standing wave voltage over its length.
http://www.hydropathusa.com/images/fig1-2.gif
Fig.1 shows a sign wave of 200 KHz. The wave length is 1500m, the 1/4 wave length is 375m. A domestic plumbing system including the feed pipe, central heating, cold water and hot water is about 60 m.
If the source is 10V then the standing wave voltage will be [sin((60/375)*90)]*10 = 2.49V between one end of the plumbing system and the other. This voltage difference between the extremities of the plumbing system is caused by a substantial flow of electrons from one end to the other of the system.
http://www.hydropathusa.com/images/fig2.gif
Fig.2 represents the position at T1 on Fig.1 and Fig. 3 represent the position at T2 on Fig.1. To achieve this flow of electrons in the plumbing system a voltage must be generated in the water in the direction of the pipe. This is achieved by utilising a high frequency transformer. This transformer consists of a ferrite ring around the water pipe. A primary coil is wound around the ferrite ring. Any conductor, the water and the pipe (if it is a conductive material) will form parallel secondary windings of the transformer. The signal that is fed to the primary coil is a high frequency diminishing wave with random wait periods. This wave is designed to allow the formation of seed crystals for a variety of crystal forming salts that may be present in the water.
Fig.2 and Fig.3 illustrate the diminishing wave and the voltage V over the plumbing system at specific times marked T1 and T2 in Fig.1, as well as the position of the electrons, and the positively charged atoms in the conducting water (and pipe), at maximum voltage position. V is the voltage generated by the ferrite ring and, I is the accelerated charge generated due to the standing wave.
It is this acceleration that forms the electromagnetic field. The electric component is responsible for the generation of nuclear clusters that act as seed crystals to prevent the formation of encrusting scale.

There is an Israeli company hocking these things under a ton of brands in the US, Europe and Africa. No way these things will work. what a rip!:mad:

Thanks for the reply gentlemen. Exactly what I expected.
I just wonder how they can give a 100% guarantee if it doesn't work.
Doesn't seem fair to the consumer.

The placebo effect: I bet most people who buy want it to work so bad they just think it does.

I think you're right about this. Quite a sad situation.
