Hi !
We just got a new Smart Bottle installed by our plumber yesterday. I had some questions and he said we should ask them here-
-How much salt does it use?
-How much Pur-Gard does it use?
-How often do we need to change the filters inside?
thanks !!

Thank you for choosing Mr. Smart Bottle for your home filtration needs. I have Mr. Smart Bottle in my home and I hope that you are as satisfied with yours as I am with mine.
Your Smart Bottle system is designed to be extremely salt-efficient. Using upflow regeneration and fractional brining technologies controlled by a sophisticated computer, your system will use the very least amount of salt possible, while still providing you with the quality of water that you deserve.
Let me know your water hardness, and number of people in your home, and we can give you a good estimate on your salt consumption.
Pur-Gard usage is directly related to how hard your water is, how much water you use. The system will also sanitize itself every week to prevent the chance of HPC bacterial growth. Most families use 1-2 bottles per year.
No filter cartridges to change in your system. The system incorporates a self-cleaning media that needs to be inspected during your annual tune-up service. Expect to have some of your filtration media replaced around every five years to ensure the very best water quality.

Thanks for the help answering my questions. I'm actually surprised at how good the water tastes and feels. You know, often when you buy something you expect the 'hype' but this filteration system is just like the plumber said it would be - great water without the slimy softwater feel! We had a kinetico softener at our old house and the water was slimy soft and we couldnt drink is because of the salt-taste. This is sooooo much better.
