Howdy

I have this Eliminator 90K that my plumber put in my house. It worked good for the first few months or so, but now the water pressure is lower and every once in a while the water smells like pond water. What must I need to do to fix it ?

More information please:

How long have you had your system ?
What is your household water pressure ?
Does your water smell like "pond water" at every faucet, or just at certain ones ?
Have you contacted your plumber/the manufacturer to help you with this yet ?

We've had it 2 years

I don't know pressure how can I tell ?

ALL the water smells that way. It starts on the hot water and then moves to the cold

I call the 800 number but they wernt very helpful. They say I need to have a serviceman come to check it, can anyone here just help me figure it out ?

Interesting....it could possibly be a bacterial issue.

Seriously, get a qualified water specialist to check it for you to be sure.
go to http://www.wqa.org and click on "Find a water professional"

If you have bacterial colonization of the softener, it can create a potential health-hazard in your home and be a bigger issue than just "pond water smell".

I'd also recommend you get a system cleaner like Pur-Gard and add it to your system on a regular basis.

I love eliminators, they breake every 5 years, there resin is cheap and their factory service sucks. I make a ton of money replacing eliminators for unhappy customers.

So are they out of business yet, I haven's seen any of their reps around lately.
