Hey everybody,
Somehow I happened upon some information yesterday suggesting chlorine would degrade an airtank's aircell. I zipped an email off to Wellmate/Pentair and they confirmed the possibility. I have been injecting chlorine into a WellMate 14WB for about 4 months. I will shift the chlorine injection location downstream of the 14WB as soon as I can. But I'm wondering, is the degradation of the aircell something that would occur in days, months, or years? I

Definitely a possibility, buy usually the bladder is Buna-N, which is quite resistand to oxidation. I would hazard an educated guess that there's no damage done at all to the bladders.

If you chlorinate downstream of the pressure tanks, what are you planning on using as a retention tank ?

I have two 40 gallon retention tanks (pic left) that I could leave downstream of the chlorine injection and move pressure tank (pic right) upstream. But the WellMate rep agreed with you in stating it's not critical so I probably won't move anything soon.

Some visual foreshortening makes it look like some of my connectors might be crimped, but they are not. Not shown is that I now have the flex connectors supported and I have catch trays under the tanks to collect condensate. I'm going to use a dehumidifier pump to drain the catch pains if I can rig it in the spring. Also not shown are pipes I later installed to facilitate flushing the tanks. It looks kinda crazy. I think if any local water guy got under there they might flip out.

later! dfm

Pour a pitcher full of water from the tap and let it sit out, covered loosely with a tea towel overnight.I used to do this for my fish, and from my understanding, most of the chlorine will evaporate out of the water. Also, if youre not normally on city water, are you sure its not a fluoride reaction youre having? . _________________________________________________ http://chevroletset.com/_templates/podpisi/1.gif (http://lookingforpurchase.com/Agar-Powder-70.html) I like it!
