Our softener isn't working right. It is 10 years old. We are getting salty water and spurts of air every few days in the mornings. The label on the system says Park International but I can't find any Park softeners in Google searches. Does anyone know where I can find a manual for this system ?

Park International is just the name of the tank manufacturer, not the softener manufacturer.

What does the control look like on the top of the Park International tank ?

The tank is blue and the head on top has a large knob in front. There is a red button on the front that you push in to set the clock.Does that help ?

That's a fleck 5600 series generic system.

Salty water and spurts of air is a good indication of a potential issue with your float and/or valve machanics.

Send me a pm and I'll email you the service manual for this control valve.

After your system had been online for 10yrs, there is going to be a large amount of natural resin attrition. Anywhere in the range of 30 - 80 percent, depending on your chlorine levels.

ion, It's running now, (after replacing the float and 1600 brine/injector assembly) but I had to drop the capacity to 800 gallons and increase the salt to 15lbs. I guess that shows the resin is worn/wearing out ?

Dude, you're resin is really beyond it's useful service life. You're to the point of diminishing returns now on resin performance. Get the thing rebedded & do it right.

I agree, in fact you might even consider upgrading your control assembly to digital technology.
